Tye River, Virginia – our 32-bay sorter is state of the art. With this sorter, we have the flexibility to sort widths to tight parameters. Our per charge capacity here is 675,000 board feet. The predominant items at this facility are 4/4 – 8/4 Red Oak, 4/4 – 8/4 White Oak, and 4/4 – 12/4 Poplar.  Our thick Oaks are air dried in a large concrete floored building with fabric sides. We are able to control the air flow through the shed by varying the weave of the fabric. The result is air-dried lumber going into the kiln that is bright and fresh looking.
