Titusville, PA Concentration Yard
This dry kiln facility is located in the heart of prime Northern Appalachian hardwoods. The Northwest corner of Pennsylvania is well know for the quality of its lumber. This facility is situated such that it draws green lumber from the Northwest quadrant of Pa. as well as the Southwest corner of NY and the Northeast section of Ohio. This facility is located on 19.92 acres, of which approximately 14 acres are in use. It is served by public water and sewer. We do have a rail siding into the yard.
There are two incoming grading stations that have a capacity of approximately 12,500,000’ per year on a single shift. Each grading station has a trim saw in line and use a voice tally system. There is one stacker which is capable of handling the production of the two grading stations.
There are five Irvington-Moore kilns and four American Wood Dryer kilns with at total capacity of 645,000’ on a 4/4 count. These kilns range in size from 45,000; to 80,000’. All of the kilns have RTD type controls. The steam source is a 450 h.p. Hurst wood waste boiler. There is a 450 h.p. oil fired boiler automatically tied into the system as a back up in case the wood fired boiler malfunctions.
We have two KD grading lines which are sized to handle the entire production of the kilns. Each of these lines have an automated system of handling the sticks and bundling them.
There are numerous storage sheds of varying sizes. It is estimated 2,300,000’ can be stored in these sheds.
